What is our CCA about ?

Indian dance comes in numerous styles mainly on classical and folk.  We modify it so as to bring in fusion to Indian dance.  It is a vibrant CCA and it teaches a lot of values such as responsibility, commitment, respect, care and being resilient.

What will we learn ?

We will learn the basic steps of Indian dance, learn to work as a team and appreciate the different form of the dance.  Students also learn to develop a sense of musicality.

What do we hope to achieve ?

Learnt to play my part in the dance as taught
Learnt to show care and responsibility to one another
Pupils are more confident as they are able to execute what has been taught during the dance practice sessions as well as performing on stage.
Pupils become fitter and stronger.

Accolades

  • Achieved Certificate of Accomplishment in SYF 2014
  • Achieved Certificate of Accomplishment in SYF 2016

MOE ExcelFest 2013

Indian Dance is very unique. Through this pupils learn how to show expressions using their eyes. Adding to that they learn how to convey a message using hand gestures or through the dance.

This year our Indian Dance pupils had performed in MOE Excelfest 2013 at ITE College Central. Their dance was well appreciated by the audience and the organisers as well.

Through this performance, our pupils’ confidence level had rose and they are all geared to do well in SYF 2014.

SYF 2013 (Secondary School)

Furthermore selected pupils from P2, P3 & P5 were brought to view the SYF 2013 (Sec Sch) on 10 April at Kallang Theatre. Pupils enjoyed the dance performances. This activity had given them an opportunity as to what they need to look out for when they are performing for SYF 2014. During this outing, pupils were given an activity book which they need to complete and submit. Based on what they had written, I can deduce that they had enjoyed viewing all the performances.

SYF Mass Dance Display 2013

6 P3 Indian dance pupils together with the other dance groups were selected to participate in the SYF Mass Dance Display at Ngee Ann City on 6 July 2013. This activity gives them exposure to performances which in return will boost their confidence level.
