The SWC is promoting another activity for their Health and Fitness Movement for all staff. Yes, you have guessed it, Carrom! Take 5 and join us in this fun and simple carrom activity in the Staff Lounge. For all you know, you may be able to link carrom with pedagogy in terms of teaching pupils angles, shapes, colours, materials and friction.

Badminton sessions have resumed every Friday evenings with effect from Term 2 as part of the school's Health and Fitness Movement. The Vice Principal, teachers, family members and friends have benefitted from these weekly sessions as they are learning the basic skills of badminton, game strategies and most importantly gelled with each other. Nothing beats the sweat and laughter after a whole week of hard work. Come and join this fun activity.

The staff celebrated the promotees of 2011 by getting together for a healthy walk-a-jog around the school on 5 April 2011 as part of the school’s Health and Fitness Movement. However, the walk-a-jog was cancelled due to heavy downpour. The heavy downpour did not stop the staff from staff from getting together through a fruit-eating session. It was a simple yet effective way to catch up with each other. Thanks to the effort of Mr AJ who initiated this event.

MOE Healthy Lifestyle Day 2011

On 21 March 2011, the Primary 2 teachers and the SWC Chairman represented Jiemin Primary School in the MOE Healthy Lifestyle Day 2011 at the Civil Service Club @ Bukit Batok as part of the school’s Health and Fitness Movement. We took part in the healthy cooking session and the basics of Archery. Archery was the main take-away for the day as most staff held the bow and arrows for the first time. It was a fun-filled and joyful day as the staff bonded through healthy activities. The day ended with a nice chilling-out session at the coffee house of the CS Club. Way to go!

MOE OLive Run 2010
At 7.30 am in the morning, thousands of runners were already warmed up and raring to go at this year's MOE OLive Run. Attracting about 4000 participants, the annual event boasted a scenic race route of the East Coast Park.

25 JPS staff participated in the event and they enjoyed the run, be it in the 3km Fun Run, 5km or 10km competitive run.

We are proudly to announce that our Principal, Mrs Mano finished 4th in the Women’s 5km category. Followed closely behind her is Mrs Theresa Wong, who finished 5th.

Congratulations to them and to all JPS participants and supporters!

This year’s event saw more JPS staff participating than last year’s event. Most importantly, it is important to keep fit and healthy!
