Values in Action
The Values in Action (VIA) programme in Jiemin Primary School (JPS) is conceptualised to achieve the school’s vision of Global Learners, Discerning Citizens. The school core values of Responsibilities, Resilience, Respect Humility and Care is reinforced through the various opportunities for students to practise them consciously at home, in school and within the community.
The VIA programme is designed to help students acquire the 21st century competencies and skills as outlined in the MOE’s Framework for 21st Century Competencies and Student Outcomes. Through the planning and implementation of the VIA programmes/activities, students are exposed to the learning experiences that supports their development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the home, school and community. It also helps shape the students' character and provides a holistic education beyond the classroom.
Students are guided by the 3As Approach “Awareness- Action- Advocacy”, which aims to strengthen students’ engagement and provide them with a meaningful learning experience while working on their VIA Projects.
